Data Series: An Analysis of the Top 50 Journalists Followed by CEOs

Social Data & Analytics

Earlier this week, I wrote a guest post for my friends at Crimson Hexagon that analyzed the Top 50 Journalists Followed by CEOs based on a report by Rational 360. You can view the full analysis by heading over to their blog.

In a nutshell, I used Crimson’s “whitelist” feature that allows you to upload various audiences to the platform for further analysis. I uploaded the top 50 journalists to better understand what’s been top of mind for them over the last 12 months. See the below topic wheel:

This is a data visualization that clusters all the content that the journalists have published and shared into clustered topics. The larger clusters/boxes around the center represent higher-volume topics of conversation. The surrounding, smaller boxes are sub-topics of the larger clusters. So it’s clear that Technology, Bitcoin, Facebook, Blockchain and Tech Companies are top of mind for this group of journalists. Makes sense.

I then did some digging on the Facebook topic to get a better understanding of the data. Historically, you can now see below what was top of mind since the beginning of this year.

Here are some additional analyses on various topics, as a part of the data science class I am taking on Udemy. Please let me know if you have any questions or comments. You can find me on Twitter or LinkedIn.
